Two all-women bands are empowering themselves throughout the Arab world, Naya from Jordan and The Woman’s Drum in Egypt.
There have been only a few all-women musical teams within the Arab world – till now.
Jordanian band Naya and Egyptian group The Woman’s Drum are among the many trailblazers making a reputation for themselves and performing to massive, new audiences.
We go backstage with each teams – sharing the ache of lengthy rehearsals and interminable bus journeys, and the enjoyment and adrenalin of dwell performances and life away from the stage and highlight.
